Stations of the Underground

The station walls of the London Underground were cleared of the paper based billboards for the latest modern electronic displays in a process that took several months. Layers and layers of accumulated advertising posters were ripped away during the night leaving a display for the morning commuters of huge abstract torn paper collages reminiscent of the artists Mimmo Rotella, Jacques de La Villegle and Raymond Hains. This was the inspiration for my ongoing series of paper collages using printed, found, drawn, and photographed images.
